Trunk Club Reveal #4

Some updates about Trunk Club. If you've seen my other reveals, there has been a change. As of October, all trunks will require a $25 deposit. This fee will be put towards your purchase from your Trunk. If you send all the items back you will lose the deposit. Also, trunks have decreased in size, the average will be about 10 items. Rumor is that once you are an established member ($1000 in sales) you will have the deposit waved and you could receive more items in your trunk.

With that being said let me show you my trunk! My items initially included some dresses, so I removed them from the preview and asked my stylist to replace with some comfier clothing. I think I got a good mix of casual and clothes to just stroll around Target in. Shopping is my cardio!!!

First up, my comfy looks:

This bra had potential, I never tried a zip front style before (which is why I love this service!) but I was worried about the zipper showing. It ended up being really flush. This gave moderate support, although I didn't feel like the ladies were going to be escaping anytime soon. If you are working out at home this was a nice alternative to wearing a top even. The details on the back were interesting as well.

Oh the flared pants are a must buy! I actually have them in black, but my stylist sent gray so I'm keeping them. The pullover was light weight that you could layer a tank under, but comfortable enough to wear alone. I wasn't loving the racerback top, it was sheer and higher in the front and lower in the back. I tried it with a jean jacket but even then you could really see my pants through. It doesn't make sense to keep something I'd have to layer to work out in, I would get way too hot.

This is quality for $98. I loved the color and the look but it was kind of heavy for me and I didn't feel like I could easily move around in it. Also, I like items like this that I could keep on inside, and this was too heavy for that, purely a jacket. If it was a more flexible material I would have kept it, but I have two little kids to chase around.

The sweater is thin and very comfortable. Has a small slit in the middle of the back on the bottom that is a nice feature. I really liked the color as well. This is my first try with Wit&Wisdom jeans, they are soft and a great fit everywhere but my waist. My stylist sent me a size down (I'm working on the post baby weight!) but I'm just not there yet.

And before I share my favorite look, here is one I hated! The ElizaJ Cable Knit Sweater Dress was a total miss. It was so heavy and the turtleneck itself was so thick and big! I told my stylist unless I was headed to Vegas to sit in an ice box to sip vodka, I would be a sweaty mess in this. I've had this off for like 15 minutes and I can still feel it around my neck. I tried it with my faux leather skinny leggings and you can see through too despite it being so thick. Maybe a good buy for something in a colder climate.

Ok finally, my favorite look:
High/Low V-Neck mixed media top by Pleione paired with my faux leather leggings by Spanx. The top was long enough, I was about to pair it with black pants for work but then thought to work on an edgier look.

Lastly one I forgot to take a picture of, because it was a basic sweater that was way overpriced. Like no reason for anyone to have this.

Let me know what you think in the comments! If you loved my trunk sign up here to be matched with my stylist.

What Momma Wore - Fall Weekend Edition

Since I have been doing a massive clean out of my closet I thought it would be fun to post some styles I'm loving recently!

First I was heading out for a morning of shopping, followed by an afternoon of drinking wine (I mean "catching up") with a friend. I wanted to be comfortable but look put together. I like wearing a jean jacket out while shopping because I can test layering items with it. Also, wearing a colored pant gets me to try on things that don't just go with a regular denim jean.

My look includes:
KUT from the Kloth Helena Denim Jacket $74.50
Madewell Whisper Tee $19.50 - I love this basic t-shirt! I have tons of colors. Looks great alone or layered.
Simply Vera Wang Slimming Skinny Jeans from Kohls in Dahlia (maroon) $50.00 (on sale for $34.99)

Next up I was headed out just to run a few errands. It's gotten a little chilly already but I didn't want to wear a coat with a top under, I would have been to hot. I opted to try out an "edgier" look.

Here I'm rocking this awesome KUT from the cloth faux leather jacket ($98.50) that I picked up from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

I layered this over a super comfy light sweater I picked up a few days before from Nordstrom. This Gibson Cozy Fleece Sweater is EVERYTHING and $48.00. Don't be turned off by hand wash - I've washed it and line dried and it's totally fine.

Finally, I'm wearing one of my favorite jeans, KUT from the Kloth Catherine Boyfriend Jean ($89.00).

What do you think? I tried to do a cozy, but put together look. It did get warm as the day went on while wearing the faux leather jacket, and the sweater looked cute on it's own as well! Can't wait to style my other recent buys! Stayed tuned!

Closet Re-vamp - LOFT edition!

I was recently browsing LOFT, and I honestly had not be in the store in a while. I love when they have their 40% off sales though so I couldn't help but wander in over the weekend. Let me share with you some of my favorite finds!

Garden Tie Waist Shirtdress - $89.50
This is actually an online exclusive..but the store had this print in other styles. I tried a top in the store but it wasn't doing me any favors, but I loved the print! Enter this shirt dress that the employee told me about with a similar print. I'm pretty tall so I can't comfortably wear this as a dress, but looks nice over skinny jeans or leggings.

I love the colors in this sweater and the different size stripes. The mustard yellow color is really in this fall, but I don't look great in it just on it's own with my skin tone. This sweater gives me a chance to wear the color without it being too much.

Plaid Poncho - $79.50
Is this a sweater? Is this a coat? It's a poncho which means it can be whatever you want it to be! These colors are not usually put together which is why it caught my eye. Pair it with some red skinnies for a fun look!

Just because summer is over doesn't mean the sun has set! These come in the hot fall color of plum and will look great with all your fall looks!

LOU & GREY Signaturesoft V-Neck Tunic - $49.50
This is the softest thing I own now! It's so comfortable but doesn't look sloppy. I purchased in the ivory/grey color and I'm sure down the road I'm going to pull the trigger on more of these babies.

What favorites have you come across at LOFT recently? Love the looks I found? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Holiday Organization and Money Saving Tips!

The holidays are coming! That means pulling all the decorations out of the attic or basement and finding corners and surfaces to shove them in...I mean "display them". I've put together my list to help you make it look organized this year and save some money.

Instead of just a wreath hanger, or command hooks, try a magnetic holder. This way you won't see the metal piece hanging over the door, the wreath will just look like it's floating in the middle of your door. I used one of these on my door and another on a window. It looked really nice and we didn't have to deal with pulling the command strips off after. Extra bonus, we can re use these (unlike buying new command strips) and they store easily (unlike a wreath hanger).

Next onto a huge pet peeve in my house, wrapping paper. My husband hates all the trash and recycling that comes after Christmas. I hear him cursing as he tries to stuff it all into the recycling bin. Why not save the money spent on them, and the hassle, by just leaving sacks from Santa this year? You can even personalize them with each family members name. If your kids still love to open gifts, or, maybe like in my house, Santa doesn't even wrap his gifts...this is a great idea for adult family members. I shoved all my husbands gifts in one last year and it was a hit. This version on Amazon is only $9.98 and you can write your child's name on it, or take it and have it monogrammed. I love that this eliminates storing rolls of wrapping paper all year as well.

The other thing that I take out each year is my stack of boxes and tins for Christmas cookies and treats. No matter how hard I try to give them out filled, I end up getting ones as gifts as well and the cycle continues. I realize that I can't complain too much because I'm giving them out as well...so let's all end the cycle and use something disposable. For $9.99 you can get 12 disposable containers. Great to bring to the cookie exchanges, and throw some ribbon around it and give as a gift.

The final thing that is so important around the holidays, is how to store the wine ;) People stop by unannounced because they are visiting family near by, people are bringing it as gifts, you need to have it on hand and have somewhere to store it. I like this holder because you can put it on the floor or a table, and you can store it away if for some reason you won't be needing it after the holiday season. We host Thanksgiving and it's cheaper to buy 6 bottles of wine (we get 15% off at our local store) but then we are like where do we put it all? We also want guests to be able to see it and help themselves to the kind they wish to drink.

Add your ideas in the comments of some storage options for during the holidays!
